This article is to share with you about the differences between azure containers and docker, the editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it with you to learn. I hope you can get something after reading this article.

Azure container and docker are two kinds of container services. Azure container is developed by Microsoft platform, and docker container is a well-known benchmark product in the industry.

Containers are becoming the preferred way to package, deploy, and manage cloud applications.

Azure container instance

Provides an easy way to run containers in Azure, save costs by moving existing applications to containers, and build micro-service applications to deliver value to users more quickly. Use end-to-end developers and CI / CD tools to develop, update and deploy containerized applications.

Microsoft's advantage lies in its mature cluster work environment (Nano Server) and mature management platform (System Center). In addition, there are a series of ecological chains around containers, such as PowerShell DSC, monitoring, life cycle management and so on.

Docker container

It is composed of client, daemon and registry, where registry is used to manage images (p_w_picpath), and container is born on images.

Daemon (also called daemon on the server side) is used to receive instructions from the client (client) and then process them, so it is usually called locally (through unix socket). Of course, docker supports remote calls (through TLS), that is, as long as there is a local docker client, you can initiate instructions to the remote daemon side, such as pull or build a mirror, building your own dockerfile, and so on.

In order to use docker services on Azure, Microsoft helps us automate the deployment and implementation of the docker daemon pattern, but in the process we need to manually prepare certificate files and port mappings, which is relatively simple after we are familiar with it.

In addition, it should be noted that if boot2docker is used in docker client, boot2docker will generate a new certificate by default each time it restarts. If you do not want to modify the TLS configuration and specify a remote host address each time, you need to log in to the virtual machine in virtualbox using boot2docker ssh. For more information, please see the official boot2docker documentation.

These are the differences between azure containers and docker. The editor believes that there are some knowledge points that we may see or use in our daily work. I hope you can learn more from this article. For more details, please follow the industry information channel.
