What are the identification codes for ip addresses? In view of this problem, this article introduces the corresponding analysis and answers in detail, hoping to help more partners who want to solve this problem to find a more simple and feasible way.
Each IP address includes two identification codes (ID), the network ID and the host ID. All hosts on the same physical network use the same network ID, and a host on the network (including workstations, servers, routers, etc.) has a host ID corresponding to it.
IP address (Internet Protocol Address) refers to the Internet protocol address, which is also translated as the Internet protocol address.
IP address is a unified address format provided by IP protocol, which assigns a logical address to every network and host on the Internet to shield the differences in physical addresses.
IP address addressing mode
When the Internet was originally designed, in order to facilitate addressing and hierarchical construction of the network, each IP address included two identification codes (ID), namely the network ID and the host ID. All hosts on the same physical network use the same network ID, and a host on the network (including workstations, servers, routers, etc.) has a host ID corresponding to it. The Internet committee defined five types of IP addresses to suit networks of different capacities, namely, Class A ~ Class E.
Among them, categories A, B and C3 (the following table) are uniformly assigned by InternetNIC around the world, and categories D and E are special addresses.

Class An IP address
A Class An IP address means that in the four segments of the IP address, the first number is the network number and the remaining three numbers are the numbers of the local computer. If the IP address is represented in binary, the class An IP address consists of a 1-byte network address and a 3-byte host address, and the highest bit of the network address must be "0". The identification length of the network in the class An IP address is 8 bits, and the length of the host identification is 24 bits. The number of class A network addresses is relatively small, there are 126 networks, and each network can hold more than 16 million hosts.
The class An IP address range is 1.0.0.1 to 127.255.255.254 [2] (expressed in binary: 00000001 00000000 00000000 00000001-0111111111111111111111111111111111111111111). The last one is the broadcast address.
Class B IP address
A Class B IP address means that in the four segments of the IP address, the first two numbers are network numbers. If the IP address is represented in binary, the class B IP address consists of a 2-byte network address and a 2-byte host address, and the highest bit of the network address must be "10". The identification length of the network in the class B IP address is 16 bits, and the length of the host identity is 16 bits. The class B network address is suitable for medium-sized networks, there are 16384 networks, and each network can hold more than 60, 000 computers.
The class B IP address range is 128.0.0.1-191.255.255.254 [1] (expressed in binary as 10000000 00000000 00000000 00000001 Murray 10111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111110). The last one is the broadcast address.
The subnet mask of the Class B IP address is 255.255.0.0, and the maximum number of hosts supported by each network is 26065534.
Class C IP address
A Class C IP address means that in the four segments of the IP address, the first three numbers are network numbers and the remaining numbers are those of the local computer. If the IP address is represented in binary, the class C IP address consists of a 3-byte network address and a 1-byte host address, and the highest bit of the network address must be "110". The identification length of network in class C IP address is 24 bits, and the length of host identification is 8 bits. There are more than 2.09 million networks in class C network address. Suitable for small-scale local area networks, each network can only contain up to 254 computers.
The class C IP address range is 192.0.0.1-223.255.255.254 (expressed in binary as 11000000 00000000 00000000 00000001-1101111111111111111111111111111111111111111).
The subnet mask of Class C IP address is 255.255.255.0, and the maximum number of hosts supported by each network is 256-2mm 254.
Class D IP address
Class D IP addresses have historically been called Multicast addresses (multicast address), or multicast addresses. In Ethernet, a multicast address names a group of sites that should receive a packet in this network. The highest bit of a multicast address must be "1110", ranging from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255.
Special web site
The address where each byte is 0 ("0.0.0.0") corresponds to the current host
The IP address in which every byte of the IP address is 1 ("255.255.255.255") is the broadcast address of the current subnet.
All Class E IP addresses that begin with "11110" in IP addresses are reserved for future and experimental use.
IP addresses cannot start with decimal "127s". The numbers 127.0.0.1 to 127.255.255.255 are used for loop testing, for example, 127.0.0.1 can represent native IP addresses, and "http://127.0.0.1"" can be used to test Web servers configured in this machine.
The first 6-bit group of the network ID cannot be all set to "0", and all "0" represents the local network.
