What is the method of attaching an elastic Nic to an instance in the console? This problem may be often seen in our daily study or work. I hope you can gain a lot from this question. The following is the reference content that the editor brings to you, let's take a look at it!

Attach an elastic Nic to an instance

You can attach an elastic Nic to the instance, but only to the secondary Nic.

This article describes how to attach an elastic Nic to an instance on the console.

Limit

When attaching an elastic Nic to an ECS instance, there are the following restrictions:

Limited to secondary network cards only.

The elastic Nic must be available.

The ECS instance must be in a stopped or running state.

An elastic Nic can only be attached to an ECS instance of VPC type, and the instance and the ENI must be in the same VPC.

The switch on which the resilient Nic is located must be in the same availability zone as the ECS instance it is attaching, because the VPC switch cannot cross the availability zone.

Only the instance specification optimized by Icano can attach an elastic Nic.

An elastic Nic can only be attached to one ECS instance of VPC type at a time, but an instance can attach multiple ENI at the same time. For the number of elastic NICs that can be attached to each instance specification, please refer to the instance specification family.

prerequisite

Before attaching an elastic Nic to an ECS instance of type VPC, you must do the following:

Create an elastic Nic.

Make the network card available.

Verify that the instance can still attach a secondary network card and is in a stopped or running state. For the number of elastic NICs that can be attached to each instance specification, please refer to the instance specification family.

Operation steps

Follow these steps to attach the ENI to the instance:

Log in to the ECS Management console.

In the left navigation bar, select Network and Security > Elastic Network Card.

Select the region.

Find the available network card, and in the Action column, click bind instance.

In the bind instance dialog box, after selecting the instance, click OK.

Refresh the list. When the status of the ENI is shown as bound, the binding is successful.

Subsequent operation

After the ENI is successfully attached to the instance, you can do the following:

Detach the ENI from the instance and remove the ENI.

Modify the properties of the elastic Nic.

For some images that cannot automatically identify the ENI, you need to configure the ENI.
