In order to establish a dual-host cluster and apply the advanced storage policy later, you need to delete the previous single-site vSAN cluster. Here are the specific steps.

Note: if it is a production environment, please make a good data backup.

Step1: delete the virtual machine.

Right-click the virtual machine and select remove from disk.

Step2: deleting disk group

If there is no important data, you can choose not to migrate the data

Step3: disk groups are deleted on all hosts

Step4: stop the vSAN service

Click "close vSAN" in the upper right corner, it will take a moment to close.

The prompt "vSAN is closed" indicates that it has been closed successfully.

Step5: delete the VMkernel Nic of vSAN on each host

Remove the vmk1 Nic on the 4 hosts in turn as shown in the figure above.

Step6: delete distributed switch

Step7: put the host in maintenance mode and then move out of the cluster

All four hosts are removed from the cluster

Step8: deleting a cluster

It ends up like this.

Step9: move four hosts out of VSCA (vCenter)

Step10: delete data center

Step11: close the browser and shut down the five virtual machines in VMware-workstation.

Step12: remove hard disk 2 (100G) and hard disk 3 (1T) of four ESXi hosts, and don't move this VCSA.

Step13: physically delete disk files from Windows Explorer.

Finally, keep it like this:

Disk1 is a system disk. Do not delete it.

All four ESXi hosts need to do the same.

At this point, the vSAN cluster is deleted.

The next section will build a new ESXi host and expand the number of ESXi hosts to 5. Then set up a new vSAN cluster.
