Static routing, a method of routing in which routing entries are manually configured rather than dynamically determined. Unlike dynamic routing, static routing is fixed and does not change, even if network conditions have changed or reconfigured. In general, static routes are added to the routing table item by item by the network administrator.

1. First, add two routers.

2. Connect the two routers and turn them on.

3. Configure IP addresses and default gateways for pc1 and pc2.

4. Enter R1 router configuration interface ip and static route, note that ip must be activated after configuration.

5. Enter do show ip route to view the routing table.

6. To configure the connection with the previous router, note the IP address and interface number.

7. View the R2 routing table.

8. Using the vpc ping command, you can ping through.

The first two attempts fail because the direct interface is tried first.
