The consultant's SAP professional and technical ability is by no means the first, but the excellent professional and technical ability is the most basic hardware index as an excellent consultant.

In the first half of the project implementation, especially in the first month, this phase can be said to be a probationary period for SAP consultants on the project. Excellent SAP consultants can quickly conquer customers by showing their excellent SAP professional and technical skills, gain their complete trust and dependence, and successfully pass the probation period. SAP consultants who are not skilled may not pass the probationary period. The author has participated in the implementation of several SAP projects, and have encountered clients request to change consultants less than a month after the start of the project, on the grounds that they are "not technically competent, unprofessional", "unable to answer our questions", "can not let us see the value of this consultant". Excellent professional technology can make customers see the value of consultants for enterprise management consulting and information construction, and make customers trust, so that consultants can successfully complete the implementation of the project instead of dropping out. In the follow-up project implementation process, excellent SAP professional skills enable the consultant to complete all stages of the project with high efficiency and quality, whether it is the design of business blueprints, the carding and optimization of current business processes, the configuration of SAP standard functions, or the enhancement of self-development, functions and reports. It can be said that excellent professional and technical ability is the capital for an excellent SAP consultant to settle down.

On the other hand, excellent professional and technical ability is even more important for consultants to establish a good reputation in the industry. I know several SAP industry leaders, in the circle to establish a very good quack status. They are all skilled, experienced in the project and willing to share with others. The author has seen some consultants with strong SAP professional skills, but their character is too strong, EQ is too low, their skin is too thin, customers express a little dissatisfaction or make them uncomfortable, they can't accept it, and they don't want to continue to finish the project and cry out of the project. I have also seen some people who are unable to communicate and cooperate well with business partners due to poor customer relationship, which makes the project unable to proceed smoothly, and even is asked by customers to change people midway because of poor customer relationship. And the author also encountered some SAP project experience is not very rich, professional skills are not very strong consultants, because good at dealing with interpersonal relationships, deeply appreciated by the client team, there is no need to worry about the project to do; the first phase of the project is done, and then do the follow-up phase II, phase III, and often the client designated to ask him to continue to do the later stage of the project.

A harmonious customer relationship is a necessary condition to ensure the smooth completion of the project as planned. Consultants who are good at dealing with customer relationships will work with clients, eat together, and play together. For example, I often play ball with clients and organize some team building activities. For the questions raised by customers, the first time to provide professional answers, questions must be answered, never deceive and never be perfunctory.' "customer satisfaction" and "customer is God" are by no means slogans, but excellent SAP consultants go deep into the blood and bone marrow of life creed and professional beliefs.

Foreign language communication skills for global

Foreign language communication skills, for SAP consultants, is a nice-to-have, icing on the cake skills.

Many consultants who are not good at foreign language skills can only do domestic projects, and they can also get a lot of project opportunities, get corresponding income, achieve one customer after another, and also realize and enhance their personal value.

However, an excellent SAP consultant should not only be limited to projects with no foreign language requirements for domestic enterprises, but should be able to adapt to and cope with the various requirements of enterprises with various backgrounds.

Good foreign language communication skills are required if SAP consultants want to get better project opportunities and career development opportunities and become an excellent SAP consultant. For many Fortune 500 SAP projects, when organizing the project team to recruit SAP consultants, there are not only regular SAP professional skills interviews, but also special and strict foreign language interviews. Because this kind of project requires SAP consultants to communicate frequently with global team and even business teams in foreign headquarters, SAP consultants are required to have certain oral English skills.
