In the software testing technology, there is no mention of passing the test and failure test in the existing test method and test technology.

However, in the actual project testing process, many project teams apply this method again. Although this method is adopted, many people do not understand the passing test and failure test thoroughly, and do not follow the uniform label in the actual use process. Many test engineers only use the test method with this name in their own projects, but do not understand that if the method can be used, that is to say, it is still the well-known test method before, such as boundary value, equivalence class and so on.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss this method with you, hoping to give it a next standard and standardize the design of the test method in practical application.

Pass the test: execute the test suite as the name implies, and the results should be pass and correct.

For example:

The user name in the login box is required to be in English

Enter the user name in English, click login should be given to successfully log in to the system.

Failed tests: execute a set of failed test cases, and the test results should be those that return (expected) failed (fail).

That is, to execute a failed test case is to get the expected error prompt by executing the test case.

For example:

The user name is not allowed to be numeric. If an error is given for the requirement of the digital system, it can be set as a failed test case.

That is, enter the user name as a number, click to log in should give an error prompt.

Take a simple example:

The requirements are as follows:

1. The qq number must be a number.

2. If the qq number is not a number, an error message should be given when you click to log in to prompt the user.

Then pass test cases and failed test cases should be set as follows.

Therefore, in the design of test cases, according to the requirements, we can first design pass test cases and failure test cases, and then on this basis, through boundary values, equivalence classes and other night test cases.
