Most of the time, when we operate on VM, we need to let the virtual machine network to carry out experiments. The problem of virtual machine networking is relatively basic and important. Online search is not very comprehensive, I have encountered such problems, entangled for a period of time. I figured it out now. So take a note and share it.

In fact, it is very simple. Just pay attention to three points:

First point: wireless network or network cable connection

The second point: whether the VMware adapter is consistent

The third point: whether the virtual machine is automatically acquired by DHCP

Fourth point: verification method [ping baidu.com]

This paper takes the wireless network connection as an example.

The following are the operating procedures and screenshots of the experiment:

Computer operation: determine whether the computer is connected wirelessly or wirelessly, and check the adapter used for the computer network connection.

1. Click to open the Network sharing Center

two。 On the Network sharing Center page that opens, click change Adapter Settings

3. View the adapters used by the current wireless network-- > > the section in the circle

The operation of the computer is done.

To sum up: for your own computer, you only need to understand two points: first, what is the adapter connected to the network; second, you can connect to the Internet and surf the Internet normally.

Virtual machine operation: 1.Mware adapter is consistent with computer adapter; 2. Select the bridge mode; 3. The network card uses dhcp to automatically obtain IP

Set the adapter used by VMware to be the same as the computer adapter:

Click Edit in the toolbar-- > > Virtual Network Editor

The pop-up window settings are as follows: select Bridge Mode-- > inverted Triangle-- > Select the network adapter that is consistent with your computer-> Application-- > > OK. Complete the configuration of the VMware network adapter

two。 Edit the connection mode of the virtual machine to bridge

Right-click virtual machine-- > > Select Settings

Pop up the following window, select the corresponding network card, and set it as follows: make sure the settings are complete.

3. Open the terminal and set the protocol of the network card to DHCP dynamic acquisition.

Vim / etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

The settings are as follows: (in the simplest way, three lines are enough, other missing information will be automatically completed) DEVICE=eth0

ONBOOT=yes

BOOTPROTO=dhcp

4. Restart the network card to view the obtained IP information

Restart the network card command: service network restart

Check the obtained IP information: ip address show

5. Test access to the public network: ping baidu.com

It has been successful. Now we can open the browser and surf the Internet.
