Here is a brief introduction to how to deploy a Windows domain environment on a Windows server 2016 server and join clients to the domain.

To install AD DC (Active Directory Domain Services), a server must have the following conditions:

1. Installer must have local administrator privileges:

DNS infrastructure support (DNS can be installed at the same time as AD DC):

At least one partition on the local disk is NTFS file system:

(Note: Must be server version)

Here's how to start installing domain controllers:

1. Log in as administrator and confirm your IP address

2. Click "Add Roles and Features" in the Server Administration window

3. In the Server Roles interface, check Active Directory Domain Services and click Next

4. Click the Install button in the Confirm screen

5. After waiting patiently for the installation to complete, click the exclamation mark icon above the Server Manager window and click Promote this server to Domain Controller

6. In the Active Directory Domain Services Configuration Wizard window that opens, click Add New Forest, and then enter the domain name in the Root Domain Name text box. In this example, zhenjiang.com

7. In the Domain Controller Options interface, select the forest function level of the new forest and root domain, enter and confirm a password that conforms to the password policy (please remember this password, which is required for restore), and click Next.

8. Confirm the NetBIOS domain name in the Additional Options screen and click Next

9. After installation, the system will automatically restart.

10. After reboot, click AD DS to view domain status in Server Manager window

11. When Active Directory installation is complete, the current computer is upgraded to a domain controller for the domain " zhenjiang.com," and local users of that computer are upgraded to users of the domain. This is currently the only computer in the domain.

Here's how we start adding clients to domain conditions:

1. Ensure that the computer and domain controller are connected to each other;

2. Configure the correct DNS address (in this case, the DNS server is the domain controller, so the DNS server address is the IP address of the domain controller)

To join a client to a domain:

1. Configure the correct IP address and DNS server address

2. Open Computer Properties and click Change Settings to open System Properties

3. In the System Properties dialog box, click Change Open Computer/Domain Change In the Belongs to option group, click Domain and type zhenjiang.com Click OK

4. Enter the domain user's account and password in the Windows Security dialog box that opens

5. Pop-up prompt box for successfully joining domain

After completion, the client can be restarted to truly join the domain.
