Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
Earlier today, we told you that the Texas Attorney General has reached a settlement with T-Mobile and withdrew from a lawsuit aimed at blocking the merger of T-Mobile-Sprint. The lawsuit, which starts on Dec. 9, is the only obstacle to completing the $26.5 billion deal. After we sent you this message, the Consumer News and Business Channel reported that the Attorney General of Nevada had reached a settlement with the wireless provider. The remaining 13 state attorneys general and the attorney general of Washington, D.C., remain plaintiffs.
Unless the attorney general of Africa continues the lawsuit, the merger will be completed next year. T-Mobile will launch its first national 5G network on December 6th, which will also be launched. The whole content of this merger can be traced back to the day the deal was announced. Anyone who cares about the mobile industry knows that T-Mobile is the fastest-growing of the big four operators and is not looking for Sprint's tough retail business. Legere and the company are pursuing the 2.5GHz mid-band spectrum supported by Sprint.
T-Mobile settled with AG in Texas and Nevada because they both dropped out of the lawsuit.
Today, IF radio waves are rare in every state, and T-Mobile relies on Sprint shares to help it complete 5G construction. The operator is using the 600MHz low-frequency spectrum and its ultra-high-frequency millimeter wave spectrum, which it bought at a FCC auction a few years ago for nearly $8 billion. The former has a long way to go and can penetrate buildings very well. The latter will not go that far and will not easily penetrate the structure. However, it does provide large data traffic and fast data transmission speed, which is what consumers expect from the next generation of wireless connections. By connecting the two to Sprint's mid-band radio waves, T-Mobile will reach more people with 5G signals, especially in the country's rural areas.
To win Texas, T-Mobile promised not to raise the price of wireless services for five years after the merger. The operator also promised to build its 5G network in Texas after the deal is completed. As part of its agreement with Nevada, T-Mobile promised to cover 83% of the state's rural population through 5G services and to provide low-cost programs. "in addition to these benefits, the new T-Mobile will invest heavily to enhance its services to Native American tribal communities and contribute to plans to increase opportunities for minorities, women and small businesses," Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford said this afternoon. "because of these commitments, I can now support a merger, which will preserve jobs in Nevada and benefit consumers across the state."
When T-Mobile announced the nationwide launch of 5G on December 6th, it also launched the "connected Heroes" program and the 10 million plan. The former will provide the highest priority free unlimited calls, text and data to the first responder on the T-Mobile network. The latter is a project that will provide Internet services to 15% of families with children who are unable to access the Internet because they live in low-income or rural families. Both initiatives depend on the merger of T-Mobile and Sprint.
Letitia James, a New York-based joint-stock company, seems reluctant to be affected by these measures. Today, she told Consumer News and Business Channel: "Today's deal does not solve the fundamental anti-competitive issue at the heart of this case.-- the large-scale merger of T-T-Mobile and Sprint will reduce competition in the mobile market." She added: "there is no doubt that this merger is not good for consumers, workers and innovation, which is why we remain committed to filing a lawsuit on this matter and look forward to a trial in less than two weeks." She also said New York would never drop out of the lawsuit.
