An implementation example of prohibiting ping by linux

1. The command to temporarily prohibit PING operation is # echo 1 > / proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all.

2. Permanently disable PING configuration method

Add one line to / etc/sysctl.conf net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_all=1 execution sysctl-p effective

Firewall mode:

1. Allow PING settings

Iptables-An INPUT-p icmp--icmp-type echo-request-j ACCEPT iptables-An OUTPUT-p icmp--icmp-type echo-reply-j ACCEPT

Or you can stop the operation of the firewall temporarily.

Service iptables stop

2. Disable PING setting

Iptables-An INPUT-p icmp--icmp-type 8-s 0 DROP 0-j DROP
