Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
A new VMware ESXi 6.5 system was installed today, and the passwords are still the same as they used to be. However, in use, whether you use vSphere Client connection or add this ESXi system to vCenter Server, you will be prompted that the password is incorrect. Finally, reset the system settings (password is cleared) and solve the problem by setting a new password in vSphere Client. The following is a brief review of the phenomenon of the problem and the solution process.
(1) Log in to the newly installed ESXi 6.5 with vSphere Client, and the password is incorrect, as shown in Figure 1-1.
(2) Log in using VMware Host Client, and still prompt that the password is incorrect. See Figure 1-2.

(3) Log in to the console and the password is correct. Because this is a new installation, there is currently no other configuration. Enter the console, select Reset System Configuration to reset the system configuration, and press F11 in the pop-up dialog box, as shown in Figure 1-3. After resetting the system, ESXi restarts.

(4) After entering the system again, log in with an empty password, reset the management address in "Configure Management Network→IPv4 Configuration", as shown in Figure 1-4, save and exit after setting, and do not set a new password in the console.

(5) Return to the management side, log in to ESXi again using vSphere Client, enter the username root, and log in with an empty password, as shown in Figure 1-5.

(6) Click "Change Default Password" in "Basic Tasks" and prompt "Administrator or root password is not set on this ESXi host" in the pop-up "Change Administrator Password" dialog box. Output password in this dialog box, as shown in Figure 1-6.

Then add the ESXi host to vCenter Server, adding is complete.
Postscript: I guess this is a small bug in ESXi 6.5. I currently have more than 10 ESXi 6.5 installed, and only this one has experienced this failure.
