1. Hardware and software preparation

3. Virtual machine compatibility selection

Pay attention to compatibility here. If a virtual machine created by VMwear12 is copied to VM11, 10 or earlier, there will be an incompatibility. Compatibility issues do not occur if the virtual machine created with VMwear10 is turned on in VMwear12.

6. Virtual machine location and naming

The virtual machine name is a name, which is easy to find when there are many virtual machines.

The default location of VMwear is under C disk, which is changed to F disk here.

7. Allocation of processor and memory

Processor allocation should be based on your actual needs. If there is not enough CPU in the process of use, it can be added. This time only do the installation of CentOS demonstration, so the processor and core are selected 1.

Memory is also allocated according to actual needs. My host memory is 8 gigabytes, so I allocate 2 gigabytes to the virtual machine.

8. For the choice of network connection types, there are four network connection types: bridging, NAT, host only and non-networking.

Bridging: if you choose the bridging mode, the relationship between the virtual machine and the host is level on the network, which is equivalent to being connected to the same switch.

NAT:NAT mode means that virtual machines have to communicate with the outside world through the host before they are connected to the network.

Host only: the virtual machine is directly connected to the host

10. Disk capacity

You can increase the disk capacity at any time by temporarily allocating 100g of disk capacity. Do not select to allocate all disks immediately, otherwise the virtual machine will allocate 100g directly to CentOS, which will reduce the remaining hard disk capacity of the host.

Check the box to split the virtual disk into multiple files, which makes it easy for the virtual machine to copy and copy with the storage device.

11. Disk name. Default is fine.

3. Install CentOS

Select the installation location, where you can partition the disk.

Then use the same method to allocate space to the other three zones and click Done.

Then the summary message will pop up and click AcceptChanges (accept changes)

Set hostname and network card information

First open the network card, then check to see if you can get the IP address (I'm a bridge here), then change the host name and click Done.

Finally, select Begin Installation (start installation)

Set root password

Click Done after setting the root password

Click USER CREATION to create an administrator user

Enter the user name and password and click Done

Wait for the system to be installed and restart the system
