What if navicat forgets his password?

1. Close the running MySQL service: control panel → management tools → service → MySQL56 (my installed version is mysql_5.6.16_32_msi)

2. Open the DOS window and change to the mysql → bin directory. (my installation path is C:\ MySQL\ MySQL Server 5.6)

3. Enter mysqld-- skip-grant-tables enter. Skip-grant-tables means to skip authorization table authentication when starting the MySQL service.

4. Open another DOS window (because the DOS window just now can no longer be moved), and change to the mysql-bin directory.

5. Enter mysql to enter, and if successful, the MySQL prompt will appear.

6. Connect to the permission database: use mysql;.

7. Change the password: update user set password='123' where user= "root"; (don't forget to add the semicolon at the end)

8. Refresh permissions (required): flush privileges;.

9. Quit quit.

10. Log out of the system, enter again, and log in with the user name root and the new password 123 you just set.
