PuTTY is an open source (Open Source Software) connection software, mainly maintained by Simon Tatham, licensed under the MIT license. Contains components are: PuTTY, PuTTYgen,PSFTP, PuTTYtel, Plink, PSCP, Pageant, the default login protocol is SSH, the default port is 22. Putty is used to remotely connect to the server, supporting SSH, Telnet, Serial and other protocols to connect. One of the most commonly used is SSH. Double-click to open it and enter the main interface of Putty.

The basic usage of putty is as follows:

1. Open the target server (virtual machine) to which you need to connect. In this case, take the virtual machine VM_CDH_dcp4_master01 as an example, and its IP is 202.118.86.79.

2, open putty, enter the IP address or host name of the target you want to connect to in the panel (in this case, the target IP is 202.118.86.79), then enter the session name (named VM_CDH_dcp4_master01 in this case) in the Saved Sessions box below, and click "Save" to save the current settings to facilitate login next time, as shown in the following figure.

3. Select the session you saved in the Default Settings column (in this case, you need to connect: VM_CDH_dcp4_master01), and then click Open to open the session, as shown in the following figure.

4. After that, the putty page will jump, enter the user account number of the target you are connected to in the jump page, then press enter, enter the password, and then log in remotely after verification, as shown in the following figure. After clicking on Open, sometimes there will be a prompt that you need to generate a Key, and click OK.

5. After the remote login is successful, you can operate in Putty. It operates in the same way as on a virtual machine (or server), and even more convenient. Because copy and paste are supported in Putty, it is easy to operate.

Finally, it is important to note that the login information of Putty is generally saved on the local computer, so be sure to clear the login information when using a public computer.
