Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
I haven't written an article for a long time, mainly because of my laziness and giving up IT technology, but I believe that the prodigal son will never change, so I have come back.
I believe that those who are still bloggers are still doing IT, and they have more or less heard of the concepts of cloud, private cloud and public cloud, so what I share with you today is Microsoft's public cloud service in China. Instead of wasting my breath to describe what is public cloud and what is cloud computing, let me take two pictures to share Microsoft's technological precipitation on public cloud:
Microsoft has been building and managing data centers for more than 25 years. Today, Microsoft's cloud-scale data center provides core infrastructure and technologies for more than 200 of its consumer services, including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and Microsoft Azure. This includes a large global combination of more than 100 data centers, 1 million servers, CDN, edge computing nodes, and optical networks. This portfolio is built and managed by a round-the-clock team of experts to serve 1 billion and 20 million enterprises in more than 90 countries around the world.
You can see that many of them are used in our daily life, for example, I am using Microsoft's live email (formerly known as hotmail), Office 365, Onedrive and bing search services for consumer users. The time of these operations and the number of users are very amazing, but these are not public cloud services for enterprises, but Microsoft is making technology reserves in data centers and large cloud services. Then the following picture may be closely related to us IT migrant workers and programmers, because all of them are aimed at enterprise users.
This picture has a lot of history, you can see lync (has been renamed Skype for Business Server) is still inside, you can also see forefront (has been separated into System Center, Windows Server and other products) this product line, as well as Windows Azure (now called Microsoft Azure), Office Web Apps (now renamed to Office Online Server) and other words, but the overall content we can refer to, at least these products belong to the big category is not changed. Therefore, it is not difficult to find that almost all of Microsoft's product lines can be deployed on internal servers, or you can directly use packaged services running in Microsoft's self-built data center.
Today we won't talk about anything else, but let's go straight to the core topic of this blog series, Microsoft Azure. Microsoft's public cloud service used to be called Windows Azure, which feels like a public cloud service platform providing Windows, but now it is called Microsoft Azure. In fact, Azure is indeed very atmospheric, which we will talk about in a later article. Speaking of Azure, we have to talk about Microsoft's data center. After all, public cloud services are not ordinary computer rooms. A hundred servers can support so many services and data storage.
Microsoft has 19 Azure data centers around the world, including 2 in China, but it is a pity that due to Chinese laws and regulations, the two data centers in China do not have dedicated interconnection with other data centers, and there are great differences in operation, function and so on.
First of all, Microsoft China's public cloud service is not hosted by Microsoft's self-built data center, but a data center built in cooperation with Telecom. The construction standard of the data center is Tier 4, and the operation of the data center is handed over to Century Interconnection. Microsoft China Public Cloud Service uses Microsoft's global Azure technology to provide customers with a consistent global quality of service.
As a customer of Azure operated by Century Interconnection, the following services are available:
Cloud services hosted in Chinese mainland data center and independently operated by Century Interconnection. Century Interconnection is a leading provider of Internet data centers in China.
The world-class Azure technology, developed from Microsoft's rich online service experience with global corporate customers for decades, serves Chinese customers in an all-round way.
The distance between the two data centers in Beijing and Shanghai is more than 1000 km. Geographically redundant data can store 3 copies in each data center, with a total of 6 copies in each data center, which not only realizes remote disaster preparedness, but also helps Azure users achieve better network access efficiency and data and business reliability. In terms of network access, one-hop access to the backbone networks of many mainstream operators of China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, the joint exit bandwidth is up to 140Gbps, and the data centers of the two places are connected by dedicated lines of more than 10 gigabytes.
Microsoft licenses related technologies, provides back-end technical support, and transplants and trains the operation management system to Century Interconnection to ensure that Chinese users can enjoy technology, functions and services in line with international standards in the Azure public cloud services operated by Century Interconnection. And Century Interconnection holds all the keys and data related to Azure services, as well as access control between the system and the data center. Microsoft helps Century Interconnection solve relevant technical problems only when Century Interconnection cannot solve relevant difficult problems independently, and on occasions accompanied and supervised by relevant personnel of Century Interconnection. At present, Azure, which is operated by Century Internet, has launched 32 public cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Specific service content in China Azure official website can be very detailed service introduction and price information: http://www.azure.cn
It should be noted that 59 public cloud services are publicly available in other data centers around the world at Microsoft Azure, compared with 32 in China. The reason for this is that China's data centers are independent and operated by Century Interconnection. This is because the Azure service needs to be released in advance on the Azure global data center, and after a period of operation, there is no problem and meets the needs of Chinese users before it will be introduced to Azure in China. In the process of introduction, China will do very detailed checks, including code, compliance, security and so on, so Chinese Azure users do not need to worry about the problem that global services are not currently released in Azure in China.
