Second, understand the advantages of DHCP server.

Dhcp enables the server to dynamically provide ip addresses for other servers in the network, without setting and maintaining static ip for any other servers except the specific required servers in the network, which greatly simplifies the work of configuring client TCP/IP, especially when some TCP/IP parameters are changed, such as the change of IP address and subnet mask caused by large-scale reconstruction of the network.

Third, proficient in configuring DHCP server.

1. Install the DHCP server

Find "Administrative tools" to open the "manage your Server" option, click "add or remove roles", and click next. The following "server role" appears, select the "DHCP server" we need, and click next.

On the Select Summary wizard page, confirm that click next to start the installation of the service.

Wait for the installation to complete, click finish to start configuring the DHCP server.

2. Configure DHCP server

Click manage this DHCP Server to open the service.

In the "DHCP" console window that opens, right-click the DHCP server name and execute the command to create a new scope

In the dialog box that opens, click next, fill in the name and description on the active Domain name page that appears, and then click next.

On the ip address range wizard page that opens, fill in the start ip and end ip, respectively. Click next

When you open the add exclusion dialog box, you can add the ip you want to exclude, and click next.

In the "lease term" that opens, keep the default settings, and click next.

On the configure DHCP options page that opens, select the first item and click next

On the Router (default Gateway) page that opens, you can fill in the default gateway. Or you can leave it empty. Click next.

On the "Domain name City and dns Server" page that opens, if there is no configuration, click next.

On the "WINS Server" page that opens, if there is no configuration, click next.

On the scope page that opens, select the first item and click next to complete the configuration.

The configuration of the above DHCP server is complete, and the network card needs to be set to the following mode in the virtual machine test.

Set other virtual machine systems to DHCP, and restart the network card to automatically obtain ip

When you open the dhcp server and refresh the address lease, you can see that two ip have been obtained and the test is successful.
