This article describes how to create a domain on Windows Server's operating system. It also describes how to join a computer to a domain.

Set static IP

The domain server that needs to be installed and configured should use a static IP address. Open the control panel in the server-find the Network and sharing Center. Find the network card you want to change. Right-click the property to find Internet Protocol version 4.

In the new pop-up window, select "use the following IP address" and set it so that you need a static IP address, and the DNS of the domain server needs to set the IP of the local machine.

two。 Add domain services

Enter the server configurator and the dashboard appears. Select add roles and Features on the interface.

A guide window appears.

Select the server.

Select the Active Directory domain service shown in the figure among the added roles

Select "add function" in the pop-up window.

On the confirmation page, check to restart the server automatically. And install it.

Note: if you encounter a failed installation of .net3.5, it may be due to the problem of adding sources. In 2012, .net3.5 is not directly integrated into the system, so you need to add sources.

After the deployment is complete, click the exclamation mark flag of the dashboard, as shown in the following figure, press "promote this server to domain controller".

Select "add new forest" (2008 is "add new domain in new forest") in the pop-up guide, and set the domain name.

Press the next step to display the Domain Controller options. The following figure selects the function level according to the actual needs to be compatible with the old equipment in the real environment. And according to the actual situation, if there is no DNS server, you need to install the DNS server. And set the password. This password is the domain account password.

After the setup is complete, the server will restart.

After reboot, you will log in using the domain management account.

After the domain service is successfully installed, the server manager will have more options as shown in the following figure.

3. Add domain account

To add a domain account, go to the upper right corner of the controller and select "tools"-"Active Directory users and computers"

In the pop-up window, click the domain and right-click to create users and groups based on the actual conditions. (the domain name will be displayed as the name set for yourself)

Set the password.

Note: you can add recursive DNS to the conditional forwarder of the DNS service

The conditional transponder ensures that when DNS encounters an unresolvable domain name, it can use the other DNS set up to query. In this setting, the DNS on this server is only a server in the domain and cannot resolve a normal URL. If you want to access the Internet normally after using the DNS, you need a conditional transponder.
