Product data management (product data management, PDM) system is a kind of file management system, which can realize the orderly management of engineering data, text files, product information, technical data, technical information and image files. Therefore, it has been widely used.

If the file management function of PDM system is combined with CAD graphics software, and engineering design and drawing, engineering report generation, technical data and information of engineering design are linked together, engineering design and project management can be made more scientific and convenient, thus engineering cost can be saved, efficiency of engineering design can be improved and development process can be simplified. This paper mainly introduces a small stand-alone PDM system used in feed engineering.

1 the overall structure of the feed engineering PDM system

The small stand-alone PDM system is composed of main control program, database, CAD graphic files, Wo rd, Excel electronic documents and picture files. The database adopts the commonly used Acce s s database format and consists of two parts: the equipment database and the engineering database.

The equipment database mainly stores the relevant data of feed processing equipment, including technical parameters and small sample drawing file management, while the engineering database stores feed engineering related data. including engineering project description, engineering drawing file management, engineering technical data and so on. The CAD drawing file includes two parts: the equipment graphic symbol, the small sample drawing file set and the engineering drawing file set.

In order to facilitate the application, the equipment graphic symbols and small sample graphic files need to be treated technically. First of all, the insertion base point of these drawing files should be defined at the alignment point when the reference is inserted; second, in order to facilitate the extraction of relevant technical data from the drawing, block attributes should also be defined for the drawing file. in order to specify the type of equipment, production capacity and supporting power and other information.

Because Visual Basic software has strong database management function, it is convenient to establish communication with AutoCAD, Microsof t office and other software. and easy to learn and master, so the main control program is developed by Visual Basic. The main control program takes database management as the core. By communicating with AutoCAD and Microsoft office, the orderly management and application of data files are realized, and the design calculation, drawing and the formation of engineering documents involved in feed engineering design are organically combined.

2 composition of the main control program

The main control program is composed of entrance module, equipment database management module, engineering database management module, selection calculation module, CAD and Ex-cel communication module. The relationship framework diagram is shown in figure 1.

The population module mainly controls legitimate users to enter the system. It includes user authentication and user management, task selection and other functions. The function of the equipment database module is to manage the technical parameter data, picture data and graphic files of the equipment. The drawing of feed engineering design involves a large number of equipment graphic symbols for flow chart design and equipment sample blocks needed for equipment layout drawings.

These blocks are usually made into graphics files and stored in the computer's memory, and the drawing call is inserted into the appropriate location in the drawing, thus avoiding the repeated drawing of these blocks. It saves a lot of drawing time. However, it often takes a lot of time to find graphic files, especially when sharing public file resources.

The equipment database module is to establish a directory query system with the help of the public database, which correlates the graphic files and related textual technical data to form a mutually conditional query system, which has the functions of record establishment, modification, deletion and query. Each record in the database is composed of equipment name, equipment type, equipment production capacity, supporting power, price, manufacturer, small sample view name, small sample file name, equipment physical picture and other fields.

The production capacity is divided into two fields: maximum value and minimum value. Users can use each or more fields as criteria for filtering, such as equipment model and production capacity, and the system lists eligible devices for selection. Or query the relevant technical information, or call the corresponding graphic file (or graphic symbol file).

The engineering database module mainly completes the feed engineering project data management. Users can complete the establishment of the project and data management through this module. The establishment of the project is to establish a new project database, at the same time, register the project name and link it with the project database. Project data management includes the addition and modification of data.

That is, engineering data such as project information, process plan, process equipment data determined according to design calculation and manual determination, engineering drawing files and engineering effect pictures are registered or modified in the form of database data, so that all or part of the data of the project can be checked and referenced conditionally. The selection calculation module is designed on the basis of the selection calculation model in the general design method, and can complete the selection calculation of all kinds of process equipment.

According to the calculated results, the system automatically lists the qualified equipment for the designer to choose. And add it to the engineering database. According to the different types of equipment, this part adopts an unused calculation model, and is divided into several sub-calculation modules, such as main equipment, ventilation equipment, conveying equipment and silo equipment.

CAD and Excel communication module uses the control component developed by ActiveX object to connect the main control program with AutoCAD aided design software and Excel office software to realize the data transmission between the main control program and these software, so as to achieve the linkage between design and drawing.

The purpose of the linkage between engineering text data and engineering drawing documents. Of course, this goal must be achieved. The corresponding equipment sample drawing files should be designed and processed for block attributes. The process of extracting engineering text data from engineering drawing files is actually the process of extracting block attributes and transferring them to word processing software.

3 the characteristics of the system
