In the last issue, we talked about using VMware Workstation Pro to build three servers: pve1, pve2 and pve3, and then we started to build a cluster on the Proxmox server pve1, pvecm create myclusters.

To join the proxmox cluster from the pve2 and pve3 server nodes, follow the command below.

Check the status of the proxmox cluster on the pve1 master server and you can see that the cluster is normal and all the nodes have joined in.

Log in to the web page to check the cluster status, and everything is normal.

Then we install ceph cluster storage, using the command pveceph install-version luminou

Configure ceph cluster storage network, pveceph init-network 172.16.100.0 Universe 24

Create ceph Cluster Storage Mon Monitor, pveceph createmon

Create ceph cluster storage OSD service, pveceph createosd / dev/sdb

Create a clustered storage resource pool

Log in to the web page to view the storage resource pool

Add RBD cluster storage

ID: required for ceph and cannot be defined

Resource pool: myclusters (default is rbd)

Monitor:172.16.100.10 172.16.100.20 172.16.100.30 (note that multiple Mon are added to separate spaces)

Add Node: pve1,pve2,pve3

View rbd cluster storage configuration information

Here we also need to add key activation to use the storage properly.

Copy the storage ID and key to the specified file location

Enter the / etc/pve/priv directory

Cd / etc/pve/priv

Create a ceph directory

Mkdir ceph

Copy client.admin.keyring to / etc/pve/priv/ceph/ceph.keyring and rename it

Cp / etc/ceph/ceph.client.admin.keyring / etc/pve/priv/ceph/ceph.keyring

At this point, our Ceph storage has been established and can be used normally. In the next issue, we will talk about how to set up virtual machines in the cluster. "unfinished to be continued"
