1. Install vmware1.1 and download VMware workstations:

If you choose version 15.x, the download address can be searched in Baidu or downloaded directly from the software butler.

1.2 install vmware

Just follow the installation wizard, just enter the registration license key during the installation

two。 Install virtual machine 2.1 prepare image

Before installing the virtual machine, download an image file of the Linux system to the local disk. I downloaded Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0.

2.2 New Virtual Machine Wizard

①: open VMware and click to create a new virtual machine

②: enter the New Virtual Machine wizard and select Custom-> next step

③: select the default item and click next

④: choose to install the operating system later-> next

⑤: client operating system: Linux version: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 64-bit (selected based on downloaded image file)

⑥: name the virtual machine, select the installation location of the virtual machine, and try not to install it on disk C.

⑦: select the default item,-> next

To allocate memory for virtual machines, 2GB is recommended. Choose 1GB for personal needs. Note: if you install a graphical system, the memory should not be less than 768MB.

⑨: network connection, select bridging network-- > next step

⑩: default, next step

⑪: select to create a new virtual disk,-> next

⑫: disk capacity defaults to 20GB (you can also set 10GB by yourself). Split the disk into multiple files for easy management. Click next.

⑬: click finish, the virtual machine is established successfully, and a virtual machine management page will be generated on the home page. Click Edit Virtual Machine Settings.

⑭: click the CD/DVD (SATA) tab, and select the downloaded image file

2.3 installation Pha

①: click to open the virtual machine, enter the installation interface, [ctrl] + [G] move the cursor into the virtual machine, press enter key to start the installation

②: automatically jumps to the installation guide page. During installation, the language is English,- > continue.

③: we need to select some information under the three LOCATION,SOFTWARE,SYSTEM projects.

④: select English for keyboard. The language supports adding Chinese, and the time zone is set to Asia and Shanghai-> done

⑤: Installation source Select Local media

Select server with gui (graphical interface) for software selection, and the rightmost option can be left unselected-> done

⑥: Installation Destir, select custom to customize

⑦: select Standard Partition and click the blue font to partition (/ boot: 200MB swap: 500MB /: 10GB)-> done

⑧: click accept changes

⑨: click begin installation to start the installation

⑩: during installation, you can set the password for root and create a new user at the same time (the installation process takes a long time, wait patiently)

⑪: after the installation is complete, click reboot to restart and the virtual machine will be installed.

2.4 initialization Settings

①: after the virtual machine is restarted, go to the login page and log in to the user

②: select English for the language, and skip the rest.

③: click the blue button to get started

3. Network configuration of virtual machine

Set the network of the virtual machine so that the virtual machine can communicate with the real machine or other virtual machines, while accessing the external network

3.1 modify hostname

In order to better observe the effect of future experiments, we can use the hostnamectl set-hostname command to modify the hostname of the virtual machine.

Open a new shell and the hostname has been modified

3.2 View the network settings of the real machine

When you run cmd on a real windows machine and use the ipconfig/all command to view the network information of the real machine, you will use the four pieces of information in the figure.

3.3 configure the network environment of the virtual machine

①: the bridging mode we chose when installing the virtual machine

②: go to the / etc/sysconfig/network-scripts directory, see an ifcfg-ens160 file in the directory, and delete it (the file name is the same as your Nic device)

Use the ifconfig command to check that the network card device is ens160.

③: after deleting the ifcfg-ens160 file, rewrite a configuration file with the IP address on the same network segment as the IP of the real machine (that is, the first three paragraphs are the same)

④: restart the network after saving and exiting, and the network of this virtual machine is set.

Note: the command to restart the network in Enterprise 7 is different from that in Enterprise 8

⑤: real machines and virtual machines can ping each other, and virtual machines can also surf the Internet
