We all know that Citrix NetScaler VPX version supports many underlying virtualization platforms and cloud computing platforms, but only Oracle VirtualBox platform is not supported. However, Citrix NetScaler VPX can be implemented by modifying the BIOS of Oracle VirtualBox VMs to run on Oracle VirtualBox. So this is how it's done? What's the principle?

In fact, the principle is also very simple, that is, by modifying the BIOS and some configuration files, the Citrix NetScaler VPX virtual machine is fooled, so that the virtual machine thinks it is running on the VMware platform, so as to achieve the purpose of running Citrix netScaler VPX on Oracle VirtualBox.

Here's a series of steps to demonstrate:

Download Oracle VirtualBox software

I download Oracle VirtualBox software on the official website of Oracle VirtualBox: www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

I downloaded Oracle VirtualBox for Windows:

After downloading, install Oracle VirtualBox.

Second, download Citrix NetScaler VPX-ESX software and import

I downloaded Citrix NetScaler VPX-ESX version 11-62.10 here

After downloading, import into Oracle VirtualBox:

Choose OVF file as import source, OVF as open virtual machine standard format, supported by all virtualization layers;

After waiting for the import to complete, the display does not start the virtual machine. If the virtual machine is started at this time, the virtual machine will report an error;

Oracle VirtualBox supports NetScaler VPX

Find the Oracle VirtualBox installation directory, find the path to the VBoxManage.exe file and open it in CMD, as shown below:

Then run the command in CMD:

Note: The command NSVPX-ESX is the name of the virtual machine VM, which varies from person to person. My import is NSVPX-ESX. For example, if you import NS, then the name of the command VM here must be changed to NS.

After executing these modification commands completely, we can put back Oracle VirtualBox and start our Citrix NetScaler VPX virtual machine;

At this point we will see that our Citrix NetScaler VPX is successfully launched on Oracle VirtualBox.
