Two parameters of oracle sequence: nextval and currval

I will use the following example to show the difference between the two parameters

Create a sequence:

Note: before calling the value of currval, you must first call the value of nextval, otherwise an error will be reported, as shown in the following figure:

As we can see from the figure above, the value of nextval continues to increase when multiple calls are made.

In the figure above, we can see that when the value of currval is called many times in the session, it is still the same as the current value of its own session.

So the value of nextval is incremented every time it is called; when the value of currval is called, it is still the same as the current value of its own session.
