This command is unique to the 11.31 operating system. There is no benefit in ordinary operation. The advantage is shown when there are multiple paths. For example, the storage of HP EVA is added. The device name / dev/rdsk/c3t0d1 and / dev/rdsk/c5t0d1 correspond to the same disk. Under 11.23, if you want to add both device names to vg, you must add both device names. Under 11.31, because of the multipath mapping, it will be displayed in the form of / dev/rdisk/diskXX, corresponding to these two devices, so it is very clear.

Expansion: to replace a damaged disk:

1. Unplug the damaged disk and insert the new disk into the original location

2. Scan the newly added disk with the ioscan command

3. Restore the information of vg00 to the newly added disk
