The server time of the ESX6.5 in the computer room is wrong, and the accuracy of the ESX Server time is more important, because the time of the VM (virtual host) on it is synchronized with it. Using NTP server on ESX4 to synchronize time, but encountered the problem of "the NTP socket is in use, exiting". The operation procedure command is as follows:

[root@esx4 ~] # ntpdate ntp.api.bz

21 Sep 14:39:09 ntpdate [24744]: the NTP socket is in use, exiting

[root@esx4 ~] # service ntpd stop

Shutting down ntpd: [OK]

[root@esx4 ~] # ntpdate ntp.api.bz

21 Sep 15:22:43 ntpdate [25723]: step time server 114.80.81.1 offset 2312.159684 sec
