VCenter Server 6.7 puts forward new requirements for hardware and operating system, especially for Windows version of vCenter Server, if the memory is less than 8GB, the installation will be terminated. Windows Server 2008 R2 system may report an error during installation. Windows Server 2003 system no longer supports the installation of vCenter Server 6.7.It is recommended to use Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 version.

Step 1, prepare a Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 2016 operating system virtual machine and configure a fixed IP address, as shown in figure 3-2-1.

Step 2, if there is no DNS server in the environment, you can implement domain name resolution by modifying the hosts file, as shown in figure 3-2-2.

Step 3, use the PING command on the virtual machine to test domain name resolution, as shown in figure 3-2-3.

Step 4, run the vCenter Server installer, as shown in figure 3-2-4, and click install.

Step 5, one of the more common hints that the Windows 2012 R2 operating system cannot continue to install is a problem with the tcpip.sys version, as shown in figure 3-2-5.

Step 9, run the vCenter Server installer again, as shown in figure 3-2-9, and click install.

Step 10, if the Windows 2012 R2 patch is installed correctly, there will be no error message. Go to the vCenter Server 2012 installation interface, as shown in figure 3-2-10, and click the "next" button.

Step 12, select vCenter Server and embedded PSC, as shown in 3-2-12, and click next.

Step 13, enter the vCenter Server system name. If there is a DNS server in the network, FQDN is recommended, as shown in figure 3-2-13.

Step 14, if there is no DNS server in the network, you can use the IP address, as shown in 3-2-14.

In step 15, if you use an IP address, you will be prompted, as shown in figure 3-2-15.

Step 16, configure the vCenter Server service account and choose to use the Windows local system account, as shown in figure 3-2-16.

Step 17, select to use the embedded database, as shown in figure 3-2-17, and click next.

Step 18, configure the vCenter Server port. Default values are highly recommended, as shown in figure 3-2-18.

Step 19, select the vCenter Server installation directory, as shown in figure 3-2-19.

Step 20, whether or not to join the VMware customer experience program, as shown in figure 3-2-20, click next.

Step 21, confirm the parameter configuration, as shown in figure 3-2-21, and click install.

Step 22, start deploying vCenter Server 6.7, as shown in figure 3-2-22.

Step 23, complete the installation of vCenter Server 6.7, as shown in figure 3-2-23, and click finish.

Step 24, log in to vCenter Server 6.7 version 6.7 using a browser to provide two login interfaces: H5 and FLASH. As shown in figure 3-2-24, H5 version has all the functions and is highly recommended.

Step 25, enter the username and password and log in to vCenter Server 6.7, as shown in figure 3-2-25.

Step 26, successfully log in to the H5 interface vCenter Server 6.7 system, as shown in figure 3-2-26.
