Basic introduction:

DNS server: a server that translates domain names (domain name) and corresponding IP addresses (IP address). A table of domain names (domain name) and corresponding IP addresses (IP address) is saved in DNS to resolve the domain name of the message.

Web server: Web server generally refers to the website server, refers to the program that resides in a certain type of computer on the Internet, can provide documents to Web clients such as browsers, can also place website files for the world to browse, and can place data files for the world to download. At present, the three most mainstream Web servers are Apache, Nginx and IIS.

DHCP server: refers to a range of IP addresses controlled by the server. When the client logs in to the server, it can automatically obtain the IP address and subnet mask assigned by the server.

Experimental equipment:

WMware Workstation Pro14 (set up two virtual machines, one server2016 system as server and one win10 system as client)

Experimental purpose:

The DNS server is used to resolve the URL of the Web server to the IP address, and then the DHCP server assigns the IP address to the client, so that the client can access the Web website through the URL of the Web service.

Experimental operation: 1. Prepare before the experiment.

Change the network connection mode for both virtual machines to host-only mode, and remove the option "assign IP addresses to virtual machines using local DHCP services" under WMnet1 in the virtual network editor.

Manually set an IP address to the server.

Set the IP address and DNS server address to the client.

Turn off the firewall on the server.

Use the client to ping the IP address of the server to see if you can communicate.

The network connection is normal, so you can start the experiment.

2. The creation and management of DNS manager.

Enter the server manager.

To create a new DNS server, follow these steps.

Select the DNS server and click add function.

Continue to follow these steps.

The installation of DNS server functions is complete.

Enter the DNS Manager.

Create a new forward lookup zone.

Follow these steps.

You can set the domain name at will, as long as it conforms to the format of the domain name.

Continue with the following steps.

The new forward lookup zone is complete.

Create a new host.

The new host is complete.

Use the client to check whether the DNS server can resolve the domain name, and the result is successful.

3. New construction and management of Web server.

Add a network adapter to the server.

The network connection of the new network adapter also chooses host-only mode.

Manually set an IP address for the new network adapter.

Use the server to check whether the IP address is normal, and the result is normal.

To create a new Web server, most of the steps are the same as those of the new DNS server. Only different steps are shown below. If not, please scroll up.

The installation is complete.

Enter the Web server management tools.

Bind the IP address to the website and set the port.

Use the command prompt to create a new physical path to the site and create a new web page file in it (you can also create a new page directly in the graphical interface).

4. Whether the experiment can visit two websites through two different IP.

Set the physical path to the website.

Use the client to check whether the website is accessible and the access is successful.

Create another website.

Select a different IP address from the previous website.

Check that the website is accessible and successfully visit different websites through two IP addresses.

5. Whether the experiment can access two websites through the same IP and different ports.

Set the IP settings of the second site to be the same as the first site, with a different port.

Check to see if both websites can be accessed through the same IP address and different ports. The visit was successful.

6. Whether the two websites can be accessed through the same IP, port and different domain name.

Set the host name for the first website.

Set the hostname for the second site and make sure that the IP and port are the same as the first site.

Set a DNS forward lookup domain for the second site.

Verify that both websites can be accessed through the same IP, port, and different domain name. The visit was successful.

7. Realize the interconnection among DNS server, Web server and DHCP server.

Create a new DHCP server.

Complete the installation.

Enter the DHCP server management tools.

Create a new scope.

Set the active domain name.

Follow these steps.

Add a default gateway.

Add the DNS server IP address.

Continue with the following steps.

Activate the new scope.

The client reacquires the IP address and changes the manual IP prepared before the lab to obtain the IP automatically.

The address assigned by the DHCP server was successfully obtained.
