Modify privileged password

1) first we create a router on Cisco's PT file.

2) click on the router to enter the command line, set a password, and save it.

3) after saving successfully, suppose you forget your password now, then shut down and restart now, during the startup process, press Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Pause to enter rommon, enter confreg 0x2142 in rommon mode to enter a blank system, and then output reset to restart.

4) now that you enter the system, you will no longer need to enter the password to log in, enter it in privileged mode

Copy starting-config running-config copies the original system configuration file to this blank system, then enters the global mode to set the password, and successfully returns to privileged mode to save the configuration file.

5) continue to enter reload to restart in privileged mode, enter common, enter confreg 0x2102 to change to normal boot mode, then type reset to restart the system, and modify the privileged password.

two。 Restore factory settings

1) continue as mentioned above, enter erase startup-config in privileged mode to restore the factory settings, and then complete the recovery after reboot.

3. Back up the router configuration file on TFTP

1) first, prepare a router and a server, connect them with a cross line, and set the IP to 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.2 for the router and the server, respectively, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, respectively.

2) configure on the router, enter copy running-config tftp in privileged mode to back up the configuration file to tftp, then ask where you want to save it, enter the server's IP 192.168.1.2, and then ask what your name is, you can use the default or your own settings, here I use the default name, and then the backup is successful.

4. Upgrade the operating system

1) continue with the above operation, enter the privileged mode. If your previous configuration has not been saved, you need to save and then upgrade the system, otherwise you will lose the configuration after upgrading the system, then enter copy tftp flash, and then enter the IP 192.168.1.2 of the server, and then enter the name of the system you want to upgrade. Only if you have this system in your tftp can you upgrade, and the model must match. If you meet the above requirements, you can complete the upgrade. After the upgrade is successful, the restart completes the upgrade.

2) enter privileged mode here and enter show version to view the current version, and the upgrade is complete.
