According to the latest report released by Forbes, Microsoft's upcoming foldable Surface PC will be available as Centaur at the end of this year and can run Android apps. In addition, the report provides some specs, including screen size and possible CPU.

According to Forbes, Microsoft's foldable Surface PC will feature two 9-inch displays with a 4: 3 aspect ratio and a 10 nm Lakefield Intel processor. I can confirm that the Centaurus is indeed an Intel device and that it does have two separate displays instead of just one foldable display like Lenovo's recently announced foldable PC.

I want to highlight Android apps because that's what I keep hearing. I've actually been listening to it for over a year now because it was originally thought to be Microsoft's foldable handheld computer, codenamed Andromeda. Since both Andromeda and Centaur run Windows Core, it wouldn't be too hard to run Android apps on Centaur if those features were developed for Andromeda. Of course, whether Microsoft is really capable of running these apps is a multimillion-dollar question.

Finally, Forbes notes that the device is expected to start shipping sometime in the first half of 2020, and I can confirm that it has heard from my own sources. The report didn't mention when an announcement would be made, but I heard that Centaur might make an appearance at a hardware event in late October this year, which could be a teaser, or a full announcement alongside Windows Lite.

Centuaurs will be available soon and will be one of the first Windows Lite devices to be released. Windows Lite is a style of the Windows core operating system. Other versions of Windows Core OS run on HoloLens 2, Surface Hub 2X, and next-generation Xbox. Windows Core OS is a modern, new version of Windows that includes many legacy components for performance, smoothness, and a new user experience.
