Recently, many friends asked me what to pay attention to when modifying the IP address of the Active Directory domain controller and how to modify it. Today, I will briefly introduce you to the old iron.

The general steps to modify the Active Directory domain controller IP address are as follows:

Log in to DC server and check IP address of current DC server. DC server is usually integrated with DNS, so pay attention to DNS configuration, as shown in figure.

According to the requirements, change the IP address from 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.11. As shown in the figure (DNS also remember to modify Austria):

Run "Ipconfig /all" to check IP address configuration

Restart the NETLOGON service using CMD

When the NETLOGON service is restarted, use the following command to re-register the IP address. The new IP address will be re-registered with the DNS server.

Ipconfig /registerdns

Open DNS server, navigate to GC, delete DNS record of original domain control server, as shown in figure:

Check DNS records after deletion

Delete the old record under the domain name, as shown in the figure:

check status

Delete old A records under DomainDnsZones

Check DomainDnsZones records

Delete old A records under ForestDnsZones

Check ForestDnsZones records

Check Domain-controlled Direct Replication Status

Modify the DNS of other domain-controlled servers and clients pointing to this domain-controlled server, as shown in the figure:

At this point, the IP address of the Enterprise Active Directory domain controller has been modified and is working properly.
