Environment

Production RAC (target):

ORACLE_SID=prodb

Test RAC (auxiliary)

ORACLE_SID=testdb

Oracle version: 11.2.0.1.0

1. Complete database prodb in the RAC node1 node of the production environment

RMAN > backup database include current controlfile plus archivelog delete all input

2. Copy the backup set and password file to the / tmp/oracle of the test environment RAC node1 node.

3. Preparation before restore in the test environment

Sql > alter system set cluster_database=false scope=spfile

Sql > shutdown immediate

Sql > startup nomount

4. Data restore

$rman auxiliary /

Rman > duplicate database to testdb backup location'/ tmp/oracle'

5. Replace the test environment password file with the production environment password file

6. Change cluster_database to true in the test environment RAC node1

Sql > alter system set cluster_database=true scope=spfile

7. Restart the test environment RAC node1 and node2 instances

Sql > startup force
