Ethernetchannel dynamic negotiation

PAgP: Port aggregation protocol, which is an Ethernet channel protocol dedicated to CISCO, while LACP: link aggregation Ethernet channel protocol, is the IEEE802.3ad standard protocol

There are four modes for PAgP:

On: the port forms an Ethernet channel without negotiation. In this mode, the peer must also be in on mode for the Ethernet channel to work properly.

Off: prevents the port from forming an Ethernet channel.

Automatic (auto): in automatic mode, monitor passively, do not initiate negotiation actively, wait for PAgP to negotiate request packet, and negotiate Ethernet channel only when there is a request.

Desirable: this mode initiates an active request for Ethernet channel negotiation on the end switch.

LACP also defines four modes.

On: the port forms an Ethernet channel without negotiation. In this mode, the peer must also be in on mode for the Ethernet channel to work properly.

Off: prevents the port from forming an Ethernet channel.

Passive (passive): in passive mode, listen passively, do not initiate negotiation actively, wait for the LACP negotiation request packet, and negotiate the Ethernet channel only when there is an invitation.

Active (active): this mode initiates an active request for Ethernet channel negotiation on the end switch.
