Today, I will give you a brief introduction on how to build DNS (Domain name Resolution) service on Windows server 2016.

To provide domain name resolution service for clients, the DNS server must have the following conditions:

1. Have a fixed IP address

two。 Install and start the DNS service

3. There are zone files, configuration transponders or configuration root prompts.

Once the conditions are met, the DNS service is installed below

1. First confirm the IP address of this machine.

two。 On the start menu, click Server Manager to start Server Manager. Select add roles and Features in Server Manager, and click the next button in the before start window of the add roles and Features Wizard that opens

3. Select the role-based or feature-based installation button in the Select installation Type window, click the next button, and in the Select Target Server window, select the target server

4. Select the DNS Service box in the Select Server role window, leave the default in the pop-up add Features required by DNS Server dialog box, click add Features, then leave the Select Features window default, click next

5. The following options remain default until you select install to wait for the installation to complete

6. After the installation is complete, let's open the DNS Manager

1. On the start button, select Administrative tools. Select DNS to open DNS Manager.

two。 Right-click the server name in the DNS Server window and select New Zone from the pop-up shortcut menu

3. Click next in the Welcome to the New Zone Wizard dialog box

4. In the area Type dialog box, select Primary area and click next

5. Select forward Lookup Zone in forward or reverse Lookup Zone and click next

6. In the Zone name dialog box, enter "zhenjiang.com" in the region name text box and click next.

7. In the Zone File dialog box, keep the default settings and click next

8. In the dynamic updates dialog box, select do not allow dynamic updates, and click next

9. In the completing the New Zone Wizard dialog box, click the finish button to complete the new area

Next, create a reverse lookup zone

1. Open the DNS Manager console

two。 In the DNS Manager console, right-click the server name, select New Zone, and in the Welcome to the New Zone Wizard dialog box, click the next button. In the area Type dialog box, select the main area radio button and click the next button

3. In the forward or reverse query Zone dialog box, select the reverse find Zone radio button and click the next button

4. In the reverse Lookup Zone name dialog box, select the IPV4 reverse Lookup Zone radio button and select the next button

5. In the reverse Lookup Zone name dialog box, enter the network ID, that is, the network segment you are looking for, and click next

6. Keep the default until complete

Next, create a resource record

1. Expand the node tree in the DNS Server window, right-click "zhenjiang.com" under "forward search area" and select "New Host"

two。 Pop up the New Host dialog box, add "name" to "www", add "192.168.1.1" to the IP address, and then click "add Host"

3. Right-click "zhenjiang.com" under "forward lookup zone" and select "New alias"

4. In the "New Resource record" dialog box, fill in the alias "ftp", click the "Browse" button, find the FQDN for which you want to create the alias, click the "OK" button, (of course, you can enter it manually), and complete the creation of the alias record.

Next, test it on the client.

1. First determine the DNS address of the client

two。 Press the "win+R" key to enter "cmd" to open the command prompt

3. Use the command "nslookup" for domain name resolution, and test "www.zhenjiang.com" and "ftp.zhenjiang.com"

After testing, the operation is fine.

Next, we start to create subdomains.

1. Open the DNS Manager window

two。 Expand the node tree in the DNS Manager window, and right-click the created zhenjiang. Com in the pop-up shortcut menu, select New Domain

3. In the New DNS Domain dialog box, enter the domain name "bj" to be created in the "Please enter a new DNS domain name" text box. Click "OK".

4. Click "zhenjiang.com", and in the pop-up list, select "New Host" in "sj" (take IP as an example)

5. Testing on the client

Next, we create a delegate (two DNS servers are required, server 1, server 2)

1. Open the main server DNS console, expand the node tree of the "DNS Manager" window, right-click the created "zhenjiang.com" and select "New delegation" from the pop-up shortcut menu.

2, . In the New delegation Wizard, Welcome to the New delegation Wizard dialog box, click next, in the delegated Domain name dialog box, enter the delegated domain name "bj", and click next

3. In the name Server dialog box, click add to specify the DNS server name that can be delegated

4. In the New name Server dialog box, add the FQDN and IP address of another DNS server (now the IP address of the other DNS server is 192.168.1.10)

5. Click next until finish to complete the new delegate

Delegation is complete, and then create a conditional forwarder on another DNS server

1. Open DNS Manager on server 2, right-click the conditional transponder and select "New conditional transponder"

two。 In the "New conditional transponder" window, configure the correct FQDN and IP (domain name and IP of server 1)

3. Next, create a new area "bj.zhenjiang.com" to create an A record.

Next, two clients are tested

After testing, the experiment is complete, if there is an error, you can use the command "ipconfig / flushdns" to refresh the local DNS cache!
