Download Google Chrome

Install Google Chrome

The easiest way to install Google Chrome on Kali Linux is to use gdebi, which automatically downloads all dependent packages for you.

# gdebi google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

Start Google Chrome

Open a terminal (terminal) and execute the google-chrome command to launch the Google Chrome browser.

$google-chrome

Appendix

Illegal instruction (Illegal Instruction)

When the google-chrome command is run with root user privileges, an illegal instruction (Illegal Instruction) error message occurs. Because normally, the default user for Kali Linux is the root user, we need to create a virtual unprivileged user, such as linuxconfig, and then use that user to launch the Google Chrome browser. As follows:

# useradd-m-d / home/linuxconfig linuxconfig # su linuxconfig-c google-chrome

The libappindicator1 package is not installed

Dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of google-chrome-stable: google-chrome-stable depends on libappindicator1; however: Package libappindicator1 is not installed.

Using the gdebi command to install the debian package for Google Chrome can solve the dependency problem. See above.
