The Nintendo Switch is getting a smaller, more affordable version in the form of Switch Lite. The best-selling console, the cheaper sibling, does not include the ability to dock and play on a large-screen HDTV. Instead, Switch Lite is referred to as a "handheld device only" console. The Nintendo Switch Lite is priced at just $200 (around Rs 13,670) and will be available in the US on September 20. Is a lighter console better than the original Switch? Switch Lite is $100 cheaper than the original Switch.

Retail at $200 (Rs 13670), the Switch Lite is $100 cheaper than the standard Switch at $300 (Rs 20505). Switch Lite is relatively inexpensive, so it's appealing to kids or anyone who likes Mario and Pokemon games. The $200 price does not include game fees. Most of the top titles include Super Mario Bros. Ultimate and The Legend of Zelda: Wild Interest, which cost $60 (about Rs 4101).

Switch Lite is designed as a handheld console.

The Nintendo Switch Lite was designed differently from the original Switch console. Unlike standard switches that can be used for handheld, desktop or TV, Switch Lite is essentially a console for handheld devices only. The Switch Lite has a 5.2-inch 720p screen (lower than the Switch's 6.2-inch HD display) and built-in Joy-Cons. Another major difference is that the Joy-Cons built into the Switch Lite now use the traditional D-pad instead of the four-key directional keyboard settings found in the standard Switch. Of course, the Switch Lite can still be charged via USB-C, just like its larger counterpart.

Switch Lite has longer battery life.

Although it is a budget version of the flagship game console, the endurance of the Nintendo Switch Lite should be slightly improved. With a more efficient processor, you can play about 3-7 hours of games on Switch Lite. In comparison, the Nintendo Switch has an average battery life of 2.5 to 6.5 hours on a single charge.

Switch Lite is available in a variety of colors.

The standard Nintendo Switch is available only in black, but the Switch Lite will be available in yellow, gray, and turquoise. In addition, Nintendo will release a special edition of Pokmon SwordShield and will soon launch a new game, Pokmon SwordShield. The limited-edition console will hit the U.S. market on November 8.

Switch Lite will run all existing Switch games.

Aside from design changes and a smaller size, the Nintendo Switch Lite is almost identical to the original Switch. To be clear, Switch Lite will be compatible with all games that support handheld mode.
