Last november, google maps for android introduced a new "discovery" feature that finds stops along the way (gas stations, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.). This feature will now also appear on Google Maps for iOS.

When driving in navigation mode, users need to find a restaurant or gas station, grocery store, or know the next toll station, and a drop-down menu on the Google Maps app will provide this useful information. If the drop-down menu doesn't have the information you're looking for, you can search for your favorite cafe by clicking on the search icon or using voice commands.

In search results, Google Maps also shows the "rating" of the destination you're looking for and how long you still have to drive to get there.

In addition to discovery, Google Maps for iOS also adds 3D Touch, allowing users to press and hold the map app icon with their fingers for more options.
