Microsoft released a preview of Exchane 2019 on July 24, 2018. From the feature introduction of Exchange 2019, you can get a general idea of several major changes: 1. The UM role will be completely removed from Exchange. To use the UM role, you need to use Office 2019 or SFB 2019. 2. The index of the database is not stored separately in the file, but in the database file, which can greatly improve the query speed. It is more convenient to share and control mailbox calendars. Calendars can be shared between Office 365and local Exchange 2019.

The main purpose of this time is to share with you my installation experience and method of testing Exchange 2016.

I. the general situation of the environment

All servers are built using Azure virtual machines.

One AD (Windows server 2016), one Exchange 2013 (Windows server 2016), one Exchange server 2019 (Windows server 2016 core)

Note: since I am using an Azure virtual machine, I cannot use Windows server 2019 for the time being, so I use Windows server 2016 core to install Exchange 2019.

Second, install the required components and download address

1. Components required for WIndows server 2019 CORe

1), Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

2), UCMA (Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0)

Download address, no need to download, directly in the Exchange 2019 installation ISO under the UCMARedist directory.

2. Components required for Windows server 2016 Core
