In response to the recent privacy scandal, security company Ring has made joint efforts over the past few months to give its users better control over their data and video sources. Now there is a formal need to use functions such as two-factor authentication to set up new accounts, and the company is gradually adopting other user controls, such as the ability to control what information is shared with third parties (launched this spring), opting out of personalized advertising. We will show you how easy it is to withdraw from third-party advertising now, and we will update this guide once the promised third-party service provider control is activated.

How to opt out of third-party advertising and services.

Note: before you begin, make sure that your Ring application is updated to the latest version-3.22.3 or later (released on or after February 18, 2020).

If you have never done this before, I recommend that you take some time to browse the Control Center area of the Ring application and read the company's statement on user privacy and data security under the "Privacy Information and Control" section. Here, you can learn about the overall privacy protection methods of Ring, third-party service providers and law enforcement agencies. In addition, under the "Community Control", the "Control Center" can choose to withdraw from the video request of the law enforcement department.

As mentioned in the introduction, Ring said that other user controls for third-party services will be launched in the spring of 2020.

Initially, we temporarily stopped using most third-party analytics services in Ring applications and websites. At the same time, we are committed to providing users with more functions to exit the control center.

Open the ringtone application on your Android device.

Click the Control Center.

Scroll down and click third Party Service provider.

Scroll through and read the information in this section, then scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Click personalized ads to disable them.

Read the disclaimer and click exit.
