Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--

The DHCP Server service stores an audit log in the% windir%\ System32\ DHCP or% SystemRoot%\ System32\ DHCP folder. The audit log file name is based on the current day of the week. By default, the DHCP Server service stops auditing records if the disk space is less than 20MB, or if the current log file exceeds the maximum allocated space. The default size of the log is 7 MB, and each log file can reach up to 10MB. If the disk is full, you can add more physical disk space, increase the maximum audit log size, or delete old log files from the default log directory below.

Notes on DhcpLogFilesMaxSize:

Specifies the maximum combined size of the dynamic Host configuration Protocol (DHCP) audit log for one week. If the audit log exceeds the size specified by this value, DHCP stops writing to the audit log until enough space is available. (Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using the program that edits the registry.)

Registry DhcpLogFilePath key notes:

Specifies the directory where dynamic Host configuration Protocol (DHCP) audit logs are stored. If you change the value of this entry, DHCP moves the audit log file to a new location.

By default, audit logs are stored in the same directory as the DHCP client information database. The location of the database is specified in the value of the DatabasePath entry.

The procedure for modifying the default DHCP audit log size:

1. Enter regedit on the command line and enter enter:

two。 Navigate to the following location in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ DHCPServer\ Parameters

3. Right-click DhcpLogFilesMaxSize and select modify:

4. Select Decimal, and enter the corresponding numeric size, the default suffix unit MB, and click OK to complete the setting:

5. Complete the log size modification.
