The upcoming Apple TV+ series "City on Fire" has signed up with Chase Sui Wonders from "On the Rocks" and "Betty" to star in the eight-episode show.

Apple announced the dramatization of its best-selling novel City on Fire in June 2021, when it said the show would be written and executed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. It will also be a joint production between Fake Empire Producitons and Apple Studios of Schwartz and Savage.

Now, according to Variety, the series will feature Chase Sui Wonders. Wonders has previously appeared in the Apple TV+ movie "On the Rocks" and the HBO series "Generation" and "Betty", where Wonders will play the leading role of NYU student Samantha.

The original City on Fire novel, written by Garth Risk Hallberg, revolves around the shooting in Central Park on July 4, 2003 and the shooting of Samantha. As the story continues, she is revealed as the center of a series of mysteries involving citywide fires.
