9to5Mac found some strings in the beta version of macOS Catalina 10.15.3, which mentioned the "professional mode" option that users can switch. In essence, it boils down to lifting the restrictions on battery savings, thus pushing the processor to achieve its maximum safety performance. To compensate for the increased heat, the fan should rotate faster to prevent throttling, resulting in greater battery loss.

The extent to which this will improve performance will naturally be measured when the feature is actually released. Neither cpu nor gpu is overclocking, so the system's ability to push silicon is strictly limited. In addition, the Pro mode seems to turn off automatically the next day, mimicking the undisturbed behavior of macOS.

There is no clear indication that Pro Mode will support the next version of macOS, nor is it clear that it will support any model. This seems to be unique to MacBooks, which makes the 16-inch MacBook Pro the perfect receiver. Considering the effect of heat, it may also need a more advanced cooling system than the current MacBook pro.
