In Project 2016, costs are divided into fixed costs and resource costs by default. Fixed costs can be one-time miscellaneous costs for a specific task, and fixed costs can be added to any task, including project summary tasks that represent the entire project. The following figure shows the project cost architecture:

The relevant formulas related to cost can be sorted out from the diagram:

Task cost = fixed cost of the task + resource cost of the task resource cost of the task = standard rate of each staff * standard man-hours + resource cost of each use task = standard rate of various materials * quantity + cost of each use

In the actual project, if there is a cost that is not associated with any rate-based personnel or material resources or any costs (such as equipment) or other variable resource costs, and cannot be entered in the resource cost, then you need to enter fixed costs directly on the task.

Taking new product development as an example, the specific steps for adding fixed costs to a task are as follows:

1. Open the new product development .mpp file, click Gantt Chart in tasks in the toolbar, expand Table in the View toolbar, click cost, and apply the cost table, as shown in the following figure:

two。 The cost is shown in the Gantt chart, and because the fixed cost needs to be entered manually, no fixed cost value has been entered in this example, so the fixed cost for any task shown in the following figure is "0":

3. In the task name field, take the "product model design phase" task as an example, enter the cost amount: 1000 in the fixed cost field, as shown in the following figure:

Description: fixed cost accruals: by default, the available fields in the costs table are "pro rata" accrued costs, or they can be replaced with "start" or "end" to accrue fixed costs at the beginning or end of the project.

For example, for the requirements Design document task, the fixed cost used to complete the document is 300 yuan. The task is carried out on Monday and Tuesday. If you select start in the fixed cost accrual field, you will spend 300 yuan on the task on Monday; if you select end, you will spend 300 yuan on the task on Tuesday; if you select pro rata, 150 yuan will be spent on this task on Monday and Tuesday respectively. Enter a fixed cost on the project summary task, and if the project summary task is not displayed in the Gantt chart, click the format-> Project Summary Task check box, as shown in the following figure:
