Generally speaking, when setting up a switch or router, I will habitually run sh run once, so that it can be restored even if there are errors in the configuration process.

Once, when I was configuring the switch, because I was just modifying the access vlan of the interface, it was very simple. I modified it at once, and then I turned off the SecureCRT easily. After shutting it down, I found that I made a mistake about the interface number that needed to be modified. I was depressed. I didn't make a backup. I didn't even know what the original configuration of the modified interface was. Finally, I asked my colleague to take a copy of the previous configuration before changing the configuration of the interface back. After this, I thought that if SecureCRT had the function of automatic log, after searching, it turned out that it had this function, but I didn't enable it myself. T_T

The method to enable it is as follows: select "options"-"Global configuration" in SecureCRT, and enter the following interface:

Then select "preset session Settings" and click "Edit preset Settings", as shown in the following figure

Then select "record File", according to my settings, each time a connection is established, a log file with the file name of the specified time will be generated in the specified directory, which will record all SecureCRT output information, so it is very convenient to query the commands you have typed.

Time parameter for file name:% Y%M%D_%h%m%s_%H.log

Add time to each line:% Y%M%D_%h:%m:%s
