Four months after launching the Pixel 4, Google has been working hard to develop the next generation Pixel 5. No more releases are expected for eight months, but today Jon Prosser, head of technology at Front Page, won't reveal the look of larger flagship stores working with John Prosser or Jon Posner.

The rendering above comes from an "extremely reliable" source and is based on a 3D CAD file from one of three early prototypes. Google usually has several teams working on different designs and then deciding on the final design in April or May, meaning that this particular pattern may still be abandoned.

This strategy is common among smartphone manufacturers. As we saw last year with Steve Hemmerstoffer's help, Apple had two very different iPhone 11 Pro designs on the desktop and finally decided to buy the smartphone we know today.

If Google chooses to continue with this particular design, it would be another huge change. The square camera module of the Google Pixel 4 series has disappeared, replaced by a huge camera bulge in the middle of the phone that looks like something we've never seen before.

The new design may seem odd to say the least, but it ultimately represents a more unique direction for the company. It also allows Google to integrate an additional sensor, bringing the total number of cameras this year to three.

It's unclear what specifications Google plans to make for the camera system, but Prosser claims there's now an ultra-wide angle camera available for use with the usual telephoto lens and main sensor.

Unfortunately, the front-panel rendering of the flagship smartphone isn't available, but known prototypes include a large top frame that, like Google's Pixel 4, probably uses Google's Motion Sense and Face Unlock technologies. However, due to recent technological advances, the forehead is said to be slightly thinner.

Looking forward to Snapdragon 865 and 5G network support.

Like the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL are expected to feature Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon865. The amount of storage and RAM included in Google's plans has not been determined, but a minimum configuration of 8/128GB seems feasible.

As a direct result of using the Snapdragon 865 chipset, Google's next-generation flagship will also support 5G networks. This can have a big negative impact on battery life, so why is there hope for more acceptable battery capacity this year?

When it comes to battery consumption, Samsung and OnePlus will switch to 120Hz screens this year. Google is one of the leaders in 90Hz panels and is expected to emulate its competitors this year, which is another reason for the increase in battery capacity.

Google Pixel 5 XL announcement and release date.

Despite today's premature ejaculation, Google Pixel 5 XL isn't expected to be officially released until mid-October. It will join the smaller Google Pixel 5 and, of course, it will also follow the cheaper Pixel 4a series and is expected to debut at Google I/O 2020 in early May.

If there is any history, the booking campaign will likely begin immediately after the event is announced and the goods will be delivered sometime between October 19 and October 23. Of course, this internet giant may try to steal Apple and Samsung sales by increasing flagship product launches, which surprises us all.
