According to relevant data, as of September 26, a total of 1962173 online App in App Store China, of which 1193170 have not been updated for more than 6 months, 890846 have not been updated for more than 12 months, and 688600 have not been updated for more than 18 months, accounting for 61%, 45% and 35% of the total, respectively, which can be called zombie App!

Recently, some developers have received email reminders from Apple that their App has not been updated for a long time and that if they want to stay in App Store, they must submit an updated version within 30 days, otherwise it will be removed.

Apple did not give a specific update time requirements, if it is strictly implemented according to the 6-month non-update, it will eliminate almost 2/3 of App, even if relaxed to a year and a half, it will affect more than 1/3!

In addition, according to Apple's requirements, App that crashes or does not work properly and does not comply with the latest audit guidelines is also included in the clean-up.

Obviously, Apple hopes to provide more opportunities for high-quality App by adjusting the App Store ecology.
