In the enterprise, we often encounter the situation that the server cannot be powered on normally. After more than a year of operation and maintenance, we have summed up the solution and specific steps for the server not to boot normally:

1. First check whether the server switch indicator is on, if not, restart the server if the power supply is intact, and if the startup is not successful, negotiate with the customer whether the standby server can be enabled and restore the data as soon as possible.

2. If the server switch light is on, connect to the keyboard and monitor, enter the account password to see if you can log in, if not, restart the server and restore the data as soon as possible, restart failure, enable the backup server or replace the server.

3. If you can log into the system through the account password, first check whether the light of the network card is on, and use ifconfig to check whether the interface of the network card is normal, and use the ping command to test the connectivity of the network.

4. If the ping is not available, open the configuration information of the network card, confirm whether the parameters of the configuration information are normal, and whether the configuration of the DNS gateway is correct, and restart the network card with ifdown,ifup, and then ping to see if you can connect with ping.

5. If the ping is still not available, timely check whether the physical devices such as local tails and modules are connected properly and whether the receiving and lighting is within the specified range, negotiate whether the customer can restart the server, and confirm that there are no network configuration and data changes in data.

6. If the ping is connected, tell the data staff to check whether the link is connected properly, to see if there is any packet loss, to confirm that there is no packet loss, and to check whether the tail and module are physically connected properly.

7. If it still fails to boot normally, restart the machine, repeat the 3456 steps and check it several times, it is still not recommended to replace a new server and resume business as soon as possible!
