1) Suppose we want to get the switch egress traffic, we need to find the OID corresponding to the number of egress bytes of the interface. Why not just look for switch egress traffic? Because we can't find the OID that directly indicates the exit traffic, we can only find the OID corresponding to the number of exit bytes. So how do I get OID? The OID of the traffic attribute of the corresponding switch interface can be obtained through the MIB browser. 2) After filling in SNMP parameters, click Start to complete obtaining OID of switch. On the interface tab, you can view the interface to the switch.
3) Select the port you want to monitor and write down the int field for the port, then click MBbrowser. OID tree structure (TCP/IP detailed explanation volume 1 has a detailed introduction), in turn select iso->org->dod->internet->mgmt->mib-2->interface->ifTable->ifEntry->ifOutOctets.
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOutOctets The number following indicates the switch interface. According to the int value found in the interface tab, you can view the number of bytes transmitted by this port of the current switch here, and then calculate the traffic of this port from this number of bytes. At the same time, we can also obtain the OID value of this interface.
4)When we find the OID to monitor the interface traffic, enter zabbix, create a new host in zabbix, select SNMP interfaces, fill in the IP address and click OK.
5) After creating a monitoring host, create a monitoring item. Note that when creating a monitoring item, because the OID we just checked is the number of bytes of the switch interface, there are some choices when creating a monitoring item.
a) Type: SNMPv2 agent;
b) key: used to identify the monitored item;
c) SNMP OID: Fill in the OID we found above
d) Unit: bps
e) Use custom multiplier: We want to check this, thinking that what we get through OID is the number of bytes, and what we get by multiplying by 8 is the bit.
f) Data update interval: fill in this according to your own needs
g) store value: Select Delta Speed per second, because we are monitoring traffic in bps and therefore need an increment of data divided by an increment of time.
6) After creating the monitoring item, create a graphic display item to complete the monitoring of network card traffic. When creating a graphic display item, select the monitoring item we created before.
