This article will explain in detail which memory in the computer uses optical principles to store data. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it with you as a reference. I hope you can get something after reading this article.

The memory that uses the principle of optics to store data is "optical disc". Optical disc is a device that uses laser principle to read and write. It is a rapidly developing auxiliary memory, which can store a variety of text, sound, graphics, images, animation and other multimedia digital information. Optical discs use focused hydrogen ion laser beams to process the recording medium to store and reproduce information, also known as laser optical discs.

The operating environment of this tutorial: windows7 system, Dell G3 computer.

The memory that uses the principle of optics to store data is "optical disc".

Optical disc is a kind of object which takes optical information as the carrier of storage and is used to store data. It is divided into non-rewritable optical discs, such as CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc., and rewritable optical discs, such as CD-RW, DVD-RAM, etc.

Optical disc is a device that uses laser principle to read and write. It is a rapidly developing auxiliary memory, which can store a variety of text, sound, graphics, images, animation and other multimedia digital information.

Definition of optical disc: that is, high density optical disc (Compact Disc) is an optical storage medium (for example, magneto-optical disc is also an optical disc) which is different from fully magnetic carrier in modern times. It uses focused hydrogen ion laser beam to process the recording medium to store and reproduce information, also known as laser optical disc.

CD is just a general term, it is divided into two categories:

One is read-only CD, including CD-Audio, CD-Video, CD-ROM, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, etc.

The other is recordable optical disc, which includes CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, Double layer DVD+R and other types.

Reading technology:

1) CLV technology: (Constant-Linear-Velocity) constant linear speed reading mode. The technology used in optical drives of less than 12 times the speed. It is to keep the data transfer rate unchanged and change the speed of the rotating optical disc at any time. The rotation speed of reading data on the inner edge is much faster than that on the outside.

2) CAV technology: (Constant-Angular-Velocity) constant angular velocity reading mode. It reads the data on the CD at the same speed. However, the data transmission speed of the inner edge of the optical disc is lower than that of the outer edge, and the more outward, the more it can reflect the speed of the optical drive, and the double speed refers to the highest data transfer rate.

3) PCAV technology: (Partial-CAV) constant angular velocity reading mode. It is a new technology which combines CLV and CAV. It uses CLV technology to read the outer edge data and CAV technology to read the inner edge data to improve the overall data transmission speed.

This is the end of the article on "which memory is used to store data in a computer using optical principles". I hope the above content can be of some help to you, so that you can learn more knowledge. if you think the article is good, please share it for more people to see.
