This article will explain in detail how to solve the problems of wireless AP. The content of the article is of high quality, so the editor will share it for you as a reference. I hope you will have a certain understanding of the relevant knowledge after reading this article.
As we all know, wireless AP devices are used to centrally connect and manage all wireless nodes. Therefore, wireless AP plays a vital role in the wireless network, it is equivalent to a relay, connecting all nodes. So, what about the wireless AP failure? This is a problem that many people will encounter. The following editor will teach you ten tips to thoroughly solve the wireless AP fault.
First, the wireless connection rate drops. The wireless network equipment can intelligently adjust the transmission rate to adapt to the change of wireless signal strength and ensure the smooth flow of the wireless network. However, if the network connection speed is lower than the 2Mb/s for a continuous period of time, the network may have failed, and you can do the following to restore the original transmission rate:
1. Check whether the power saving mode of the wireless network card is turned on. When using the power-saving mode, the transmission power of the wireless network card will be greatly reduced, resulting in the weakening of the wireless signal, thus affecting the transmission rate of the wireless network.
2. Check to see if there is a barrier between wireless devices. If there is a shield between the wireless network card or between the wireless network card and the wireless AP, especially the metal shield, it will seriously affect the transmission of the wireless signal. It is recommended that the wireless AP be placed in a higher position in the room to make it visible to the wireless network card.
3. Check to see if there are any other interfering devices. Microwave ovens, cordless phones and other devices with similar frequency to the wireless network will cause great interference to the wireless transmission and lead to the decline of the communication rate. Most microwave ovens use 711 of the 14 channels in the 2.4GHz band, so for wireless devices using the 802.11b protocol, just fix the communication channel to 14 (the last channel).
Wireless network cannot receive data
If everything is normal when connecting the wireless AP to the wireless router, the Internet connection sharing of the wireless network can be realized, indicating that there is no problem with the hardware and settings of the wireless AP. Since the data cannot be received, it indicates that the connection to the network is not established correctly, and the cause of the failure may occur on the connection between the wireless AP and the switch. If the switch supports Smartport, the device connected to the opposite end can be determined and the port mode switch can be completed automatically. Otherwise, the specified jumper should be used to connect the wireless AP to the switch. In general, cross lines should be used for connections between network devices. Therefore, it is recommended to use crossover lines to connect the wireless AP to the switch to test whether the fault has been resolved.
Wireless AP cannot connect too many devices
In theory, though, a wireless AP or wireless router can support 256 Wi-Fi connections at the same time. However, from practical experience, once more than 10 clients are using the same access point, its performance will degrade rapidly. Wireless AP and wireless routing are very similar to hubs in a sense, and the bandwidth is shared by all access users. Therefore, with the increase of the number of access users, the available bandwidth decreases rapidly, resulting in a significant decline in the network transmission rate. In addition, the performance of wireless AP and wireless routing is limited, and the delay will become very large when dealing with multi-user concurrent access at the same time. The following methods can be taken to solve the problem:
1. Configure a wireless AP, set the two AP to different channels (such as one using channel 1 and the other using channel 5), and connect them directly with cross lines, or interconnect them with the help of a switch.
2. Lock each network card to the specified access point. After configuring a wireless AP, a wireless roaming network is formed, and the wireless network card roams from one access point to another, and then locks on the access point with the strongest signal. If there are multiple access points in an environment, and there are more than two comparable signal strength, then the wireless network card will constantly switch back and forth between different access points, thus greatly reducing the performance of the network. Locking the wireless network card to a fixed access point can eliminate the phenomenon of switching back and forth between access points, and increase security so that unauthorized wireless network cards cannot use wireless AP; to prevent a wireless AP from connecting too many wireless clients.
4. The computer cannot communicate with the wireless network. If the wireless network card shows that it is working normally, but the value of receiving and sending data is 0, the following methods can be taken:
1. Check all wireless AP cables
And make sure the power LED is green.
2. Verify that all wireless network properties are set correctly.
3. Make sure that the signal received by the computer from the access point is good.
5. the transmission rate of wireless network is unstable.
If after the installation of the wireless network, the network communication is basically normal, but the data transmission speed is sometimes fast and sometimes slow, this is because the wireless devices are closely related to the distance, interference and other environment, and they can automatically adjust the speed according to the environment, so the speed change is a normal phenomenon. In the simplest case, the transmission speed will decrease when the distance is far away. Generally, the wireless access device AP can be placed in the center of the wireless LAN device group, so that all wireless terminals will not be too far away.
6. The wireless network card shows that only sending but not receiving
If the wireless AP is set up correctly, other people in the office can receive it wirelessly, while computers can surf the Internet through a wired network, but data reception over the wireless network has always been zero. Look at the wireless network properties and find that the IP address and subnet mask are not normal values. This indicates that the network card is not connected to the wireless network and does not obtain IP address information from the wireless AP.
The cause of the failure is related to the wireless network settings. Different wireless networks use different SSID and WEP encryption. Therefore, the problem may occur because the network settings have been modified. The solution is to refresh and set up the wireless AP and modify the WEP encryption.
The notebook cannot access the wireless network
Use SVA wireless AP and wireless network card to build wireless network. The SVA wireless client can access the wireless network normally, while the wireless network card built in the IBM notebook cannot establish a wireless connection.
This is because the default SSID and WEP encryption of the same manufacturer's wireless products are exactly the same, while the SSID of different manufacturers is not the same. Therefore, in addition to Windows XP, other operating systems must install wireless clients and modify the SSID (uppercase) and WEP passwords of the IBM wireless network. It is important to note that the SSID and wireless connection mode of the wireless network card should also be checked in the device Manager.
8. Low communication rate between wireless AP
The furthest distance of wireless AP bridging is about 150m, and the connection failure often occurs between two AP at this distance. Generally, it can be solved by setting up an external gain antenna, but the cost is high. Another method is to install two wireless AP on the outdoor wall, using the two walls as reflectors to enhance the radiation wave in front. Between the wireless AP and the wall, the aluminum-plastic plate is used to protect the basin-shaped container, which not only looks beautiful, but also solves the problems of waterproof and sunscreen, and plays a good reflective role. After processing, the connection rate can be as high as 11Mb/s, and there will be no drop phenomenon.
9. Wireless AP cannot surf the Internet due to incorrect location
If the company office building on the 6th floor, use two wireless AP, respectively on the first floor and the third floor, the Internet access effect is not good. Measures can be taken to place two wireless AP on the second and fourth floors to achieve wireless coverage of the entire office building. Two AP are wired to the switch and then connected to the Internet through a broadband router.
The wireless signal weakens after the wireless AP moves
When the office's functioning wireless AP is moved next to the file cabinet, the wireless signal is much weaker and the transmission rate is greatly reduced. The cause of the failure is a multiplexing (MulTIpath) problem. In the past, when watching TV with sheep's horn antenna, there were some ghosts on the screen of some channels, and these ghosting images were called multiplex. Similarly, after the wireless signal is bounced by a nearby object, it reaches the receiver at different points in time, resulting in multiplex. For example, put a wireless client in a room and have an access point in that room. When the access point sends a signal, the signal will spread from all directions and reach the wireless client. But the wireless signal also bounces off other objects and then takes the turning path to the wireless client. This means that the wireless client actually receives two or more signals. It is almost impossible for wireless networks to eliminate multi-channel signals, so the phenomenon of multi-channel can only be reduced as much as possible. Try not to place metal objects near access points or wireless clients.
