Accurately capture the load of the online production system and play it back flexibly in the test system to truly evaluate the system change.

Note: the load captured in the lower version can be played back in the higher version.

Process description

1.Workload Capture

Online capture production system load, and landing as load files, only capture external requests, will not capture background activities and job, load files cross-platform.

2.Workload Preprocessing

In the test system to preprocess the load file, preprocessing is a time-consuming and resource-consuming operation, do not execute in the production system, the preprocessed load file can be replayed many times.

3.Workload Replay

Customize playback based on preprocessed load files; evaluate the number of playback clients (number of wrc processes) using wrc's CALIBRATE mode before playback; and the test system used for playback should restore to the captured time point as far as possible, so as to reduce playback divergence.

4.Analysis & Reporting

Analyze the replay report (awr,ash,addm, etc.).
